I’m an ordinary person, carving out my space here on the internet. I’ve never been able to be completely open to my friends and family about my struggles in life and about who I am as a person. Because of this I sometimes feel that I am living a lie. I’m hoping by documenting this new chapter in my life, I can find myself and find the courage to be strong. I’ve read some blogs that have really inspired me, reading true life accounts of trials and challenges really has helped me get to where I am now.

Best Case Scenario: Someone stumbles upon this blog years from now and it helps them take control of their lives as well. Even if that doesn’t happen, I will have a record of my journey that will keep me focused on the big picture.

  1. Hey there, I’ve been missing your posts lately and can’t wait until you have more to share. It’s been great reading the comments you’ve left over on my blog over the last wee-while, and to say thank you I’ve nominated you and your blog for a couple of blogger awards – check them out here: http://peonut.com/2012/07/02/you-make-me-blush/ And keep up your good work!

    • This is flattering! Thanks again.

I’ve been around — more lurking than posting, but I’ve been reading and learning and getting up-to-date with everything. I definitely frequent your blog and I’ll definitely return the favor. I didn’t even know that blog awards existed! Anywho, thanks for the gesture, it is truly appreciated.

  2. You are truly inspirational. I know that it is tough to maintain motivation on your journey. I still struggle with it. Just know that you are awesome and worthy. Always put yourself first and don’t let anyone else’s values deter you from your journey. 🙂

    • Thank you so much for your kind words!!! It’s great to hear that blogging my journey is reaching someone, anyone — because I am relying on reading blogs to help propel me towards where I want to be.

I definitely wish you well on your journey. Maybe we can help each other along the way.

  3. Thanks for checking out my blog! I am so glad I’ve stumbled across yours. I did a quick scan and really enjoyed what I have read so far. You have a great sense of humor! 🙂 Best of luck in your journey!

  4. I find it difficult to keep focus on a big picture sometimes. Most of the time, what I want now gets in the way of what I want overall. It’s hard to open up, but I’m glad people do…. keep it up! It’s not easy. Oh, and, thank you.

    • The big picture for me has been a huge part of why I’ve gotten discouraged in the past. With SO much weight to lose its like “yeah right”. I’ve had to focus on 10 pound increments that force me to have a wee little celebration every single time I hit one of those milestones! It is hard to open up. Extremely hard. But it’s rewarding too because when I’m alone preparing for sleep, I can congratulate myself for being strong enough today to be truly genuine and honest. Knowing this propels me. Thanks again for responding!

  5. This is an awesome blog. I have been on the same journey. I was 275, lost 100 pounds, now am back up to 200 (after birthing twins!). I have complete confidence that my weight journey will never be over, but it’s one I will keep fighting!
Thanks for visiting The Fat Girl Blog (www.thefatgirlblog.com)
I hope you don’t mind, but I put a link to your site on my blogroll.
